Management of Ovine Johne’s Disease (OJD) will continue as part of the Sheep Health Project at Animal Health Australia, enabling producers to be able to use all the on-farm practices and tools currently recommended as part of a best practice approach to control.
Sheep Producers Australia has endorsed a change in the industry definition of lamb to be the same as the New Zealand definition. The new definition is ‘young sheep under 12 months of age or which do not have any permanent incisor teeth in wear’.

Farmers were appalled and saddened at the footage shown given animal welfare is a priority for them at all times.
